The M-51 parka was designed for use by U.S. Army officers in the Korean War, a battlefield which brought colder temperatures and called for heavier materials than the previous WWII-era parka designs. Keeping the roomy shell design which allowed the parka to be worn over typical battlefield gear, BR’s edition recreates the brief period (around 1951) where this jacket was made from heavy cotton satin with a water-repellent finish.
